North Otago Miniball Comp for Years 3, 4, 5 & 6

Basketball continues to grow in North Otago, with more than 600 players participating across primary and high school grades. North Otago Basketball supports the development of grassroots basketball and provides structured competitions for young players at primary school level. Miniball and junior basketball are designed to introduce players to the fundamentals of the game. These programmes focus on basic skill development, teamwork and learning the rules in an age-appropriate environment.

Miniball Competition

The Miniball competition is for players in Years 3 and 4. It runs across Terms 2 and 3, with games held on Tuesday afternoons at a venue to be confirmed. Teams may be single-gender or mixed gender. The competition is non-competitive and uses a size 5 basketball with 8-foot hoops.

Junior Basketball Competition

The Junior Basketball competition is for players in Years 5 and 6. It runs across Terms 2 and 3, with games held on Tuesday afternoons at a venue to be confirmed. Teams may be single-gender or mixed gender. The competition is non-competitive and uses a size 5 basketball with 8-foot hoops.
