North Otago Secondary Competition Year 11 - 13
Secondary school basketball provides opportunities for players in Years 11 to 13 to continue playing in a structured competition environment. North Otago Basketball supports both competitive and non-competitive options to suit different levels of experience, commitment and player goals.
Secondary School Competition – Competitive
The competitive secondary school competition is for players in Years 11 to 13 and runs across Terms 2 and 3. Teams are selected by schools and compete in the Otago Basketball Competition in Dunedin, with games played on Friday nights.
This competition offers a high standard of basketball for players who are looking to further develop their skills, game knowledge and experience in a competitive environment. Players wishing to trial for this competition should speak with their school’s sports coordinator or the teacher in charge of basketball.
Secondary School Competition – Non-Competitive
The non-competitive secondary school competition is for players in Years 11 to 13 and runs across Terms 2 and 3. This grade is designed for players who are looking for a less demanding environment, with an emphasis on participation and enjoyment.
Games are played after school during the week. Players should register their interest through their school’s sports coordinator or the teacher in charge of basketball.
