Bronwyn Banks Recognised at 2026 Network Waitaki Sports Awards

North Otago Basketball is incredibly proud to celebrate Bronwyn Banks, who was honoured with the Denis Birtles Memorial Services to Sport Award at the 2026 Network Waitaki Sports Awards.

This award recognises outstanding service and contribution to sport in our community, and there are few more deserving recipients than Bronwyn.

For many years, Bronwyn has been one of the driving forces behind basketball in North Otago. Her commitment, passion, and tireless volunteer work have helped shape opportunities for countless players, coaches, referees, and families throughout the region.

From organising tournaments and competitions to supporting representative programmes and helping basketball continue to grow locally, Bronwyn’s contribution has had a lasting impact on the sport and the wider community.

Anyone involved in North Otago Basketball knows the amount of work that happens behind the scenes, and Bronwyn has consistently been at the heart of it. Her dedication, care, and willingness to help wherever needed have made a huge difference to generations of players and volunteers.

This recognition is a fitting tribute to the many years Bronwyn has devoted to sport in our region.
