Network Waitaki Intermediate Tournament returns in 2026 with a brand new home

The Network Waitaki Intermediate Tournament will return to Ōamaru in 2026, continuing a tradition that began in 1993. This year marks an exciting milestone as the tournament moves into Ōamaru’s new six-court stadium, giving players, supporters and visiting schools access to modern facilities, new scoreboards and an upgraded spectator experience.

For more than three decades this tournament has been a key fixture in our basketball calendar, and its growth has been made possible through the ongoing support of Network Waitaki and our other valued sponsors. Their commitment has helped keep the event an institution in our region and ensures young players continue to have opportunities to develop and compete.

With more space, better equipment and improved court availability, the 2026 event is set to be our most seamless tournament yet. Key dates, draw details and team information will be added to our News and Events section and shared on our Facebook page as the tournament approaches.
