Congrats Toby Hunt from North Otago

North Otago’s own Toby Hunt has been named in the squad, marking an exciting step forward for one of the region’s rising basketball talents.

Toby spent his first four years at Waitaki Boys’ High School in Oamaru before heading north to Shirley Boys’ High School for his final year, where he made a major impact. In 2025, he helped lead his team to a Secondary Schools National Championship title and was named Tournament MVP, underlining his ability to perform on the biggest stage.

A shooting guard known for his scoring ability and confidence, Toby brings both pedigree and potential. His development continues to track upwards, and this opportunity reflects the work he has put in over recent years.
